PAESTUM AND AGROPOLI - (SA)

Between the Piana del Sele and the Alto Cilento, we find some of the most historically important places in southern Campania. Paestum, ancient Posidonia, located near the Tyrrhenian coast, was one of the main centers of Magna Grecia, the period to which the three majestic Temples and invading finds kept at the National Archaeological Museum belong. Agropoli, was an important commercial port of antiquity. The inhabited area is surmounted by the old center which retains most of the walls, the seventeenth-century portal and the Aragonese castle. The main naturalistic attraction is also the Baia di Trentova which takes its name from the homonymous rock.
