In Vallo di Lauro and Bianese the cities of Avella and Lauro they tell a story long centuries. There are many civilizations that have enriched the past of Avella: that of the Osci, the Etruscans, the Samnites and in particular the Roman one, which has left some of the main archaeological evidence on the territory. The area is also known for its scenic beauty and agro-food production, including hazelnut.
Lauro, dominated by the majestic Lancellotti Castle, has a very rich historical center where you can visit: the Museum Umberto Nobile, the Palazzo dei Tufi, the Umberto Nobile Museum, the Roman villa of the imperial age of S. Giovanni del Palco and the Franciscan Church of S. Giovanni del Palco.
