The village of Casalbore, in the province of Avellino, hosts a truly unique attraction: the Castelli Museum. It is a photographic-experiential route dedicated to the discovery of the centuries-old castles that populate the province of Avellino and which represents one of the largest conurbations of Europe. The museum is housed in the premises of the castle area which flanks the Norman Tower, symbol of the village of Casalbore, set in a fascinating setting of nature and beauty. The museum, created thanks to the collaboration between the Terre di Campania Cultural Association and the Municipality of Casalbore, has as its main nucleus the Traveling Photographic Exhibition "Images as travel notes - Castles and Fortifications in the province of Avellino". Of each Irpinian castle included in the photographic exhibition, not only its history is illustrated, but also that of the territory on which it insists, together with its peculiarities (other sites of interest, typical food and wine) and the legends and anecdotes that distinguish it. In addition to the exhibition area, the "Museum of Castles" consists of an educational path dedicated to the discovery of the world of castles and the Middle Ages, with the possibility of participating, for pupils of educational institutions, in themed educational workshops. The "Museum of Castles" also hosts conferences, presentations and events dedicated to the enhancement of the territory and its typical features and aspires to expand the photographic exhibition thanks to the inclusion of the castles in the Sannio Beneventano area. A visit to the "Castles Museum" in Casalbore is an experience not to be missed to discover one of the most fascinating realities in the Campania region.
